The Nonviolence Intensive with Kit Miller and Dominic Barter took place between the 28th of May and the 3rd of June 2025, in Switzerland.
Over 50 participants from 14 countries took part, with sessions covering subjects as wide as grief work, syntropic agriculture principles, civil war prevention, dialogical social systems, the rise in authoritarianism, conflict dynamics and new money systems.
Here is some of the feedback we received, 3 months after the event, that lead us to offer the Intensive again in 2026.
Participant feedback
“For the past three months, I have felt carried by the energy we shared together. I’ve begun many personal projects in my city. These are small steps for now but already spark a lot of interest.”
“I am realising that it's the first time of my life where I am truly asking for support when I most need it.”
"I have learned several life-changing insights regarding the dialogical approach to life, and how to approach and strategise around situations where some of the people involved are not interested in a dialogue. There were also many more life-changing insights and learning that were made by experience, not only an intellectual understanding, which I deeply appreciate and am grateful for."
“My understanding of nonviolence—and how it can take shape in the world—has been profoundly shifted. Beyond personal growth as an end in itself, I now glimpse the real, concrete applications that can truly transform the way we live together. I can imagine systems of dialogue, freed from the usual patterns of power, beginning to blossom in our societies. To make this real, we must dare to try, stumble, fall short, learn, and begin again—always mindful not to impose ready-made answers from the outside. What feels central to me is support system: I am learning to see and trust the interdependent nature of human beings, at every scale. Inclusion—especially of children—now shines for me with a new clarity. Dare. Act. Fail. It is never about whether you can or cannot—it is about how much support you need to take the step.”
“I got more calm, I take better care of myself, I am nicer with myself. My bullshit detector is a bit better calibrated and suddenly I can easier let go of things. I reflect more about if I need help, if I want to adjust my support system.
I see systems everywhere now. Ears and eyes wide open. It's super overwhelming, super inspiring, super frustrating, super motivating, super saddening. I got interested much more in social systems. On all levels. I find myself in calls, in conversations, in buying books, reading articles about it more and more. Something has started. I wish to learn and to contribute. And in my own little world I challenge which systems exist and what I could disrupt, change, dialogue about.”
“(The Intensive) was more about being on the field than learning in a classroom. Witnessing Kit relating with her grief. It triggered a process which is leading me now to look at my own and finding a power and fearlessness I haven't experienced before. Witnessing Dominic in the money process and the vast impact on individuals and the group of witnessing agreements which are different from the dominant system.
All this started a very strong shift in me in moving towards self-determination, responsibility and power. Anger is much less present as a driving force for bringing more truth and authenticity in relationships and in the collective field; I have much more awareness of the systemic dynamics and muscles to track and engage with those and less "personification" of what is happening (like attributing dynamics to specific individual/s); much less sentimentalism in my life; I am moving more proactively, consciously and fearlessly towards building social systems.”
